Fire Door and Door Inspection Procedure
All doors should be inspected to ensure that they function correctly and to the standard that they were originally intended when installed.
It is a statutory requirement that doors located on protected fire routes, doors to restrict the passage of smoke and final exit doors be inspected, and maintenance carried out to ensure that all doors are working as they should be and that all of these inspections are properly recorded.
To achieve this, inspections should be of a minimum of once per annum up to monthly, the frequency of each doors inspection should be dictated by its assessed use. All this information will be assessed during the pre-door survey, and a door check record sheet produced. All servicing and any remedial repair work can be arranged before a planned Maintenance Agreement is implemented.
